61 Oxford Street shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival Awards
July 2016
Following its recent RIBA National Award, 61 Oxford Street has been announced as one of the 343 projects shortlisted for awards at the World Architecture Festival in Berlin this November.
The international shortlist includes architects from 58 different nations with projects based across 58 countries. The UK has the largest number of projects this year followed by Australia and Turkey.
Designed by leading architectural practice, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), 61 Oxford Street introduces a highly contemporary landmark to a renowned location. Featuring a distinctive curved glass design across the whole façade, the architecture takes inspiration from the classical 1930s Aalto vase concept while retaining a traditional shop-front aesthetic.
Dukelease Properties is incredibly proud of this flagship scheme, which represents a real feat of design and engineering. The recognition by the WAF is a testament to the company’s dedication in delivering high-quality, distinctive and innovative buildings which make a real contribution to the surrounding area.
