Dukelease’s new flagship scheme gets planning approval

Dukelease’s new Gray’s Inn Road scheme for 60,000 sq ft of office space, 6,000 sq ft of retail and 15 residential apartments was given resolution to grant by Camden’s Planning Committee last week.

Designed by architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, the proposals include a new mansion block above retained shopfronts on Gray’s Inn Road, and the restoration and extension of industrial buildings within the site. The proposals also include a new maintained pedestrian thoroughfare between Gray’s Inn Road and Mount Pleasant, 135 cycle spaces, three on-site affordable homes and the creation of 626 new permanent on-site jobs which are anticipated to result in £2.6m additional local spend annually in London Borough of Camden.

The conservation-led design was developed in dialogue with local groups, including the Mount Pleasant Association and nearby Christopher Hatton primary school.

The application was supported strongly by Camden planning officers and approved 6-2 at Committee.
